The Devil Is My Friend

I crossed over many seas and from what I see, there's not much for me to believe.
I've tortured and pillaged all the villages.  I've been beaten then deceived then left by the countryside for my soul to leave.
From what I've seen and from what I believe there is not much for me to see.

These desert nights, alone and as the cool wind blows, I hear a voice and my shadow grows.  Mistakes I've made for questions I will never know.

Exiled.  But home was not an option.

I broke the chains that I felt yesterday.  I keep the brackets on so I can remind myself of my way.

A new era has emerged.  A place I never knew I would hold firm.  But I'm here.

I found my way and I wish to spread it.  But their fear of me, scares them clueless of me.  For I am just a helping hand.  I'm just going about this plan that I had planned that had already been planned for me.

A strike of fear comes at first glance of me.  I take the glares handsomely for I know it is the Devil that you want.

"A lil ol Devil is what you want.  Then a lil ol Devil is what you get."

The Devil ain't too kind of a fellow.  He rather not be bothered but you keep bumping into him.  Telling him all your stories, which happen to also bore me, but you intrigue him with all your blood, guts and glory.

You let us know that we are far different from the rest of the pack.  We just so happen to like to explain that we all are the same.  Do you care to look a little into my brain?

Where's the rain?  I thought there would be a downpour?  I guess the tears stopped working and pride and fear made you stay clear of the emotion you wish to truly adhere

We wake an emotion that is ever so clear.  We shake the ground so noone can steer.

There's a war outside.  It's full of hope and pride.  But what you don't see is we come at the price.

But not me and my friend.  We see the means to an end.  It may not be pretty but are you?
