Power

What is it?  Why do people want it soo badly?

Is it the benefits of it?
Are you happy to have people in your command?
Do you actually want to make change with it?
Were you the most qualified for it?
Or are you just happy with it?

I've noticed from a lot people I met, the people that want power are the ones who shouldn't have power.  The one that doesn't stretch for it but their peers see them as the most qualified are the ones that have the best turn outs with power.

Power is a very delicate thing that a lot take for granted and abuse.  Yes, you typically get a better pay rate.  Yes, your word holds more say for the bottom line but what can you bring to the table outside of saying, "I'm the boss, so my way is what goes."

The work up the hierarchy ladder, I don't think people who want power truly consider what it takes to keep what is there afloat.  Those who want power, I'm always suspicious as to why they want it.

With power, you must be 100% selfless.  It's no longer about you, it's about you and every single one involved in the equation and it all rides on you.  You are the captain, you go down with the ship, not send one of your subordinates.  The subordinate will actually look at you and say, "No, boss.  You made this decision, this is your role...I'm jumping on a Life boat."

I see a lot of my friends wanting to start their own business and wanting to climb the ranks of their field but some of them when I ask why they want to push for their own business or why they want to climb the ranks, I found some of them had some pretty petty reasons why.

One person said, "I enjoy having people under my command."...cool

One just didn't want to answer to anybody.  Reasonable but I found there is always going to be somebody whether it's the investor, a board of directors, a city manager, or the boss and you're climbing the ranks there will always be somebody.

One I always felt they had a chip on their shoulder and had something to prove...not sure if that's the best mentality to go with for anything.

Maybe these will be the keys to their success.  Maybe they're just at their beginning and soon they'll blossom into great leaders of their field.  I'm just wondering why some people strive for it for the vanity of just being able to say "I'm in power."

I think of the police issues that has been around within America since before my father's time(he's about 55).  I notice police officers more and more throughout the years getting more violent and more reckless with their power.  I understand this isn't all police officers but there is a lot of crooked police who overshadow the good cops doing their job by the book.

Police officer is the definition of what power is.  Their job is the oversee the city they work in, cast a judgment over what a situation may be, legally allowed to lie and can write the paper work up in whatever way they feel like or charge nobody with nothing because they don't feel like doing paper work.  There was a case in Bloomfield last year where two cops pulled over a man and immediately started striking him.  The cops claimed he was assaulting them during the "traffic stop" but lucky for his case there was video footage that proved otherwise.

It makes you wonder how many cases are there when somebody is in jail simply because a cop wanted to be a legal bully.

Bullies with power.  That's a scary thing whether you're in the fast food industry, retail, management, fortune 500 exec, anywhere, a bully with power just wants power for the sole reason to be in power.

So I want ask this, Why do you want to be in power?  What is there to gain climbing up that ladder?  What can you bring to the table?  If it ain't broke, why fix it with your promotion?  Do you care about the money?  Do you care about the recognition?  Do you care about those around that your power affects?  Is there something for others to gain with you being in power?  With you being in power is it a win-win for everybody?  Or do you just want to be in power to bask in the glory of you in power?

Work, Work, Work...And More Work?

I'm tired of working

9 to 5
Monday through Friday
40 hours, 5 days a week

That's what we're told to do.

I wonder why in other countries a 4 and 3 day work week is acceptable?
I wonder why other countries pay their citizens to Live and nourish the economy?
I wonder why the country I Live in does not see this and take pointers?

What's the point of working majority of my Life and not having much time to be with my family and Loved ones?
Coworkers suddenly become family and Loved ones by default.

Sometimes, like today, it bothers me that majority of my time is spent in a warehouse and in a tractor.  I've worked other jobs at full time and the story is the same.  I would Love part time hours but I can't maintain rent, credit, phone and internet on that budget...especially the rent part.

If I could have a way I wouldn't work.  Sometimes I wonder what's the point of it?

You need a service?  I can perform that for a fee.  Cool, I get that.  But what if I want my Life to not be holed up to a job?  How can one person achieve what he or she wants in Life when suddenly, this service I'm performing for you and your needs "BOSS" becomes a slave labor.

This is full time hours but...what's this check looking like?  Why is it that you're making this HUGE profit off of my labor and only give me and my coworkers barely anything to Live off of?  And trust and believe, you're profit can feed the planet.  Starving kids in Africa, America and Mexico would be well nourished off the profit you're making from my labor but you continue to give me the scraps of the hardship of my labor that I'm giving you.

What's the compensation to all this?

Go to college, get in debt with no guarantee that you will even get into the field you spent half a decade towards?

Why does college have to be soo expensive also?  Why in other countries, college it is free or WAAAY cheaper?  Yet, in this country, at any college, you spend the same amount of money for a house towards tuition and then a mortgage for books each semester.  Ok, financial aid is available but from my own experience and others who graduated, everything is not paid for.  Almost only partially paid for.  Wouldn't mind higher taxes of it meant College would be free...I wonder what a High School tuition would be if it wasn't part of the taxes we pay during each paycheck?

Something is not adding up to me.  It's like everything needed has this incredible price.  There's supply and demand but CAN I LIVE?  Can I get paid enough where I can meet all my necessary expenses at ANY job?  Can I not have to worry about each months rent?  I'm saving my coins but can I not always be tempted to want to dip in my savings just to survive?

Is there a problem with giving back to our communities?
Why do the poor have to continously pay the rich to Live?
Am I suppose to be a politician or high ranking officer and get into a sweet embezzlement scheme?
Do my needs mean nothing?
What's the middle ground for high class, middle class, low class and no class?
How can we all win?
What can we do?
What could we do?
What should we do?
What is there to do?

I just want everybody out here to win on our own terms and have a chance to succeed in their own field.  Why can't we work, play and focus on our passion?  Is it wrong for people to want that and to be like that?

It's time for a change in this nation and I would like to see it soon.

Checklist.

If there was something we had to discuss, it would be the fact that we didn't know more Love than lust.
A emotional repressed generation trying to find the stitches for this wound that keeps getting bigger.
Males that are told to never show our pain.
Females are told at a young age that a lady is never the first to engage.
A man should never be in touch with himself.
A woman should always wait for a man's help.
A man becomes dirty of sins of the continous battle to prove himself to the world.
A woman is full of sins because she enjoys the freedom that the world has given her.

A man should indeed never hurt a woman but to deem him a little better for destroying another man, also doesn't help, either.
We turn the other cheek if a woman abuses a respectful man but when he reaches his limit, whose word you're going to respect more?

A woman sees her wings and wishes to fly.  She wants to fly sky high until her muscles become sore.  But before she can fly she must ask a Judge and Jury, "How high, how far, how low can she can go?" She waits to move until her verdict is in.

A simple Life is too easy for man.  To feel envy for a cloud is normal for us.  They can take any shape or size, come out day or night or not at all, move as the wind blows in their favor and never judged by how much they labor.

The perfectionist watchful eyes.  In the eye that watches women, a woman's every movement must be perfect, from how she sits, eats, sleeps and what she enjoys out of Life.  In the eye that watches men, a man must be nothing less than a perfect success.  The perfect job, the perfect wife, the perfect car, the perfect house, the perfect child, the perfect relationship, vacationing to tropical estates, ranked high in your business world and if this isn't done by 30 years old, a "forever failure" sign will hang above your head.

Does the way she sits make her any less perfect?
Does the car he has establish that he's established?
Does pizza and beer make her unladylike?
Can a man smell a flower without being judged if he's a man?
Can she go grocery shopping besides not looking like a magazine cover?
Can he go shopping while being on a budget?
Is she a lesbian because she prefers to stand up for herself?
Is he a weakling because he gave into his emotions and cries his Life's pain?

What makes a woman and what makes a man?

"Just suck it up man, stop being a pussy!"

"Excuse me ma'am, but are you sure you know what you're doing?"

"Dude, look what I have and what you don't.  Trophies all around me."

"Miss, you look really bad, did you think any of this through?"

What if he's happy with all he's got?
What if she's glad with the Life she's made?
Maybe he does want to show a little emotion...
Maybe she does want to get her own hands dirty...
Maybe he would like a double standard...
Maybe she's tired of these double standards...
Maybe he's celibate because he's waiting that one true Love to take him away.
Maybe she wants to play the field to see what's out there and to give into her natural urges...

Is it wrong that some men would like to stay in the house, take care of it and the kids?
Is a strong financial providing woman that terrible for our culture?
Do we have it backwards or do Lions?
What's wrong with a little shock in our culture?  A new bang might be what we need.

Are we being fair to one another?  Or have the traditions of being a man and woman run its course?

I would Love to see more female truck drivers and electricians.  I would Love it if more men decided to be a nurse or secretary. I would Love to see a balanced world where gender and race meant nothing but what you looked like.  I would Love it if success simply meant doing what you need to do for your Life.  I hope that one day the checklist of Life would go away and we can Live our Life in any way we saw fit.

Who are you to judge?
